Harriet Mason is a seasoned Communication, Public Relations, and Advocacy Professional with a rich background spanning over 15 years. With a passion for effective communication and a drive for promoting causes she believes in, Harriet has established herself as a proficient strategist and leader in her field.

Her career journey began in 2005, when she served as Producer and Presenter at the Moyamba District Children’s Awareness Radio until 2009, using media to inform and inspire young audiences. From 2010 to 2011, she worked as Communication Officer at Defence for Children International – Sierra Leone, advocating for children’s rights and strengthening stakeholder engagement. Between 2012 and 2015, she was Communication Officer at the African Foundation for Development – Sierra Leone (AFFORD), where she not only led communications efforts but also contributed to business development initiatives for startups and SMEs, fostering entrepreneurship and supporting local economic growth. Since 2015 to date, Harriet has served as Communication Officer at UNICEF, leading high-impact communication and advocacy strategies to promote children’s rights and well-being.

Throughout her career, Harriet has honed her skills in crafting compelling narratives, managing media relations, and spearheading advocacy campaigns. Her strategic approach and creative thinking have enabled her to develop impactful communication interventions that resonate with diverse audiences.

Beyond her professional achievements, Harriet is committed to social causes and is dedicated to making a positive impact in her community. She actively engages in initiatives aimed at driving social change and promoting inclusivity.
